Project Homeless Connect 2014
Date and time
Location
Greater Richmond Convention Center
403 North 3rd Street Richmond, VA 23219Description
Project Homeless Connect will match one guest with one volunteer in a one-of-a-kind partnership to assist chronically homeless adults in connecting to as many on-site services as possible in one day. To do this, more than 30 service providers will move their operations to the Greater Richmond Convention Center for a day.
Volunteers are trained to assist clients in navigating the array of services based upon the client’s priorities. The goal for the event, and its high level of volunteer involvement, is to eliminate some of the barriers people experience as they seek to access the very services that might help them start the journey to return to stable lives.
Organized by
Homeward is a collective impact nonprofit utilizing data-driven collaboration to prevent and end homelessness in Greater Richmond. Homeward's mission is to prevent, reduce, and end homelessness by facilitating creative solutions through the collaboration, coordination and cooperation of regional resources and services.
This work happens in three primary ways: 1) identifying regional needs and trends through data collection and analysis; 2) coordinating our regional homeless services system to maximize resources and outcomes; and, 3) educating the community for system change needed for homelessness to be rare, brief, and non-recurring in Greater Richmond.
